Doctrines Concerning

God, The Father

E. That the Father sustains and exercises sovereign rule over His creation, specifically mankind.

Neh 9:6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

Psa 115:3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Pro 21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Dan 4:25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

Personal Opinion:

It does seem a stretch to hold to the belief that God takes a direct control over the appointment of our leaders.  I could be held or lead to the conclusion that in a democracy, we could just as well flip a coin when we vote, the winner is not up to us to chose.  God knows His man and no power on earth is going to keep him out of office.

Then there is the question of how far down the line does God go in determining our leaders - President for sure; how about V.P., senators, representatives, Secretary of State, governors, mayors, dogcatchers?

Another Bible Doctrine that must be accepted on faith and put on the back burner of the brain.
